Graduate Testimonies
Many people in the
area have gone through this program in recent years. As a financial
advisor, I received a lot of questions from clients and prospective
clients about this program. I decided to take the class myself, so
I could
answer these questions.
I was glad I did. Dave
does a good job of laying out basic processes for helping people setup
a budget, get out of debt, and stay out of debt. He also discusses
how to save for future goals such as college savings for the kids, your
own retirement, or some other life long dream.
Dave
emphasizes the importance of life, health, disability and long term
care insurance and many of the pitfalls that come with these complicated
products. He also touches on how to purchase real estate, vehicles,
and generally how to make your hard earned dollars work hard for you.
The concepts taught
in this program are nearly the same as I've been promoting as a financial
adviser. These concepts are basic to all good financial planning.
Being able to understand and apply these concepts, throughout ones life
will be very beneficial to FPU graduates. The Ramsey program
does that; helps people understand and apply these concepts.
Dave’s presentation
is excellent and entertaining. He has a way of turning what could be
a rather boring topic into a fun, enlightening and exciting learning
experience. Most importantly, the course is laid out in a down-to-earth,
common sense, easy to understand manner.
Everyone could learn something from this program and improve their personal
financial health.
A Testimony From a Graduate
While being a single mom with
2 teens, I went back to school full-time for my degree and license in
my 40s, working 3 part-time jobs to pay the bills and of course still
using the credit cards for emergencies. After I graduated I had a lot
of debt to pay off. Things were very hard! Then someone in our church
started a class of Financial Peace in the fall of 2005. I was really
hooked! Using gazelle intensity to get the debt down I took an extra
job, and had lots of garage sales. Currently, I am still working at
it (although I have slowed down in intensity because of family issues)
and will have the total balance done by the end of this year. I can’t
wait to call Dave and yell DEBT-FREE.
A Testimony From a FPU Graduate
2006
I joined this class not because
of debt but for a better understanding of all facets of money; how to
do a better job of using my money for everything God has given me. I
came away with a great deal of information, great fellowship and a purpose
as to what God wants from me.
